Rathotsava
The Sacred Chariot (Ratha): At the center of the procession is a massive wooden chariot or car (ratha), meticulously decorated to transport the temple’s processional deity (Utsava Murti).
Distinctive Canopy Design: The upper section features a tall, tiered dome wrapped in colorful concentric layers of pleated fabric—ranging in brilliant shades of yellow, green, white, blue, and red—crowned with sacred brass or copper finials (kalashas) and saffron flags (saffron dhwaja).
Festive Adornments: Fresh coconut palm fronds, leafy boughs, and heavy garlands of marigolds and jasmine wrap around the wooden structure, symbolizing purity, life, and auspiciousness.
Devotional Assembly: A sea of enthusiastic devotees fills the tree-lined temple avenue, gathering to pull the chariot's heavy ropes or offer prayers. Pulling the sacred chariot is considered a deeply virtuous act that brings divine blessings.
the Temple fair occurs every year Buddha poornima ( agi hunnimege hoovina rathotsava will occur )
